Ciara, who touched down in Lagos on Thursday ahead of the highly anticipated four-day Lagos Fashion Week 2025, shared that the city's vibrant culture, fast-growing creative scene, and bold fashion identity inspired her decision to attend and support the event.

During the ceremonial closing gong session at the Nigerian Exchange, she appeared alongside Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, where she expressed genuine excitement and admiration for Lagos’ booming fashion industry and entrepreneurial drive.

According to Ciara, her mission during the fashion week goes beyond presence — she intends to use her global influence to amplify Lagos’ unique culture, talent, and creative brilliance on the world stage.

She said, “I will be using my platform to showcase the beauty of Lagos. My heart beats differently whenever I’m here. The city’s growth and creative energy are inspiring.”

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu praised Lagos Fashion Week for continuously reshaping Africa’s fashion narrative, strengthening the city’s creative economy, and spotlighting young trailblazers in the industry.

He explained that the annual fashion showcase has elevated Lagos’ status as a cultural powerhouse, contributing to investment growth while also inspiring the next generation of African designers and creatives.

“Our administration remains committed to supporting those pushing locally created brands to the global market,” Sanwo-Olu said, stressing that Lagos represents Nigeria’s capacity to take the lead in Africa’s creative and economic transformation.

Lagos Fashion Week celebrates 15 years of African creativity

This year's edition marks an important milestone as Lagos Fashion Week celebrates its 15th anniversary under the theme “In Full Bloom,” a fitting message symbolizing growth, innovation, and limitless creative potential across Africa’s fashion landscape.

From October 29 to November 2, 2025, designers, fashion entrepreneurs, models, stylists, and cultural tastemakers from across the continent will gather to celebrate African excellence in style, design, and sustainability.

Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted that the collaborative efforts between the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Exchange are geared toward unlocking international opportunities for rising talents and fashion business owners who are transforming African fashion into a global force.
