Actor, fitness enthusiast, and reality TV star Adeoluwa “Saga” Okusaga has opened up about his philosophy and methods for managing intimacy on screen, revealing the level of professionalism and respect that guide his performances. According to Saga, clear communication and mutual consent are the bedrock of every successful acting partnership, especially in emotionally charged or romantic scenes.
In an insightful conversation with Jay On Air, the Big Brother Naija “Shine Ya Eye” alumnus discussed the importance of setting boundaries and maintaining comfort on set. He emphasized that he never rushes into kissing or romantic scenes without first engaging in a discussion with his co-stars. For him, this process ensures that both parties understand the flow of the scene and remain at ease throughout filming.

“I don’t just dive into a kissing scene,” Saga explained during the interview. “I believe in talking things through beforehand. I sit down with my partner, we talk about how it should go, what feels right, and what doesn’t. That clarity makes the scene more authentic and ensures no one feels awkward or violated in any way.”
Saga, who rose to fame during the 2021 edition of Big Brother Naija’s Shine Ya Eye season, has continued to expand his creative portfolio since leaving the show. He credits his transition from reality television to acting and filmmaking to his relentless pursuit of authenticity and self-expression. According to him, the entertainment industry rewards professionalism, and the key to longevity is respecting the craft and everyone involved in it.
From reality tv to storytelling
Beyond the reality TV spotlight, Saga has carved out a name for himself as a multi-talented creative with interests spanning painting, fitness, acting, and now music. His evolution into filmmaking represents a new chapter in his artistic journey — one that seeks to merge multiple art forms into a single storytelling experience.
Speaking passionately about his upcoming romantic drama, Falling Notes, which he began developing in January 2025, Saga revealed that the film is a deeply personal project. It reflects his desire to connect his love for art, music, and storytelling in a way that feels genuine and inspiring. “I asked myself, what can I do differently?” he said. “I’ve painted, I’ve acted, I’ve danced — but I wanted something that fuses all these passions into one expression. So, I decided to sing and act in Falling Notes.”
For Saga, the creative process has been both a test of patience and a journey of self-discovery. “It wasn’t easy stepping into the role of a musician,” he admitted. “But I needed something fresh — something that challenges me to grow. This film gave me that opportunity to rediscover new layers of artistry and push my limits.”
Partnership, content creation and growth
Saga also took time to acknowledge the vital role of collaboration in his career. He praised his long-time creative partner, Roseline “Liquorose” Afije, for her unwavering support and shared vision. Together, they’ve worked on several viral projects that not only entertained fans but also redefined their identities in the entertainment industry after BBNaija. Their strong partnership has become a model for other content creators striving for growth through teamwork.
“After the show, I knew it was going to take effort to be taken seriously,” Saga recalled. “Liquorose and I made a decision to stay consistent. We wrote, acted, and produced short skits every week — even when no one was watching at first. That consistency built an audience that now trusts and supports our work.”
The duo’s viral series, popularly known as “Couple Chronicles,” became a social media sensation, showcasing their acting range, humor, and chemistry. According to Saga, those skits became the foundation for his acting career. “Almost every major call I’ve gotten from a director came because they saw one of our skits,” he said with a proud smile. “Those short clips opened the doors to Nollywood.”
Now, as he prepares to release Falling Notes, Saga says the film represents more than just another career milestone — it’s a statement about reinvention, creativity, and courage. “Growth comes when you stop waiting for validation,” he concluded. “The truth is, you have to create your own stage and keep performing until the world notices.”
Through his discipline, artistic curiosity, and respect for collaboration, Saga Okusaga continues to inspire a generation of young creatives who are determined to find their voice in an ever-evolving entertainment landscape. His journey from reality TV to filmmaking reminds us that success is not just about fame — it’s about passion, purpose, and persistence.
