This development comes shortly after his release from detention in connection with the #FreeNnamdiKanu protest. Sowore was subsequently rearrested following comments he made about the Inspector General of Police (IGP), whom he allegedly referred to as a “goat.”

Police Declare Sowore Wanted for Alleged Public Disorder Plot

In a widely circulated video, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Olohundare Jimoh, announced that Sowore has been placed on the police wanted list for allegedly planning to trigger public disturbance and obstruct traffic movement, particularly on the strategic Third Mainland Bridge.

Commissioner Jimoh called on Sowore to turn himself in to the nearest police station for questioning. He emphasized that no individual, regardless of status, will be allowed to disrupt public peace in Lagos State.

It is worth noting that Sowore has a long history of activism. In 2019, he was arrested over the #RevolutionNow campaign, which demanded sweeping reforms in governance and security. In July 2025, he made headlines again when his AI-powered Ray-Ban glasses were forcibly removed by police during a peaceful protest in Abuja.

Over the years, Sowore has led several high-profile demonstrations, including the #EndBadGovernance protest in August 2024 and another mass protest in October 2024 calling for action against corruption, insecurity, and economic mismanagement.
