A Nigerian lady who recently attended the highly-anticipated Hallelujah Challenge Festival in Lagos has sparked conversations online after expressing her frustration over what she described as shockingly inflated prices of drinks and snacks at the venue.
Her complaint, which surfaced shortly after the event, has drawn reactions from several other attendees who claimed to have experienced similar price hikes.
Lady Laments Cost of Snacks & Drinks at Spiritual Event
In a video posted on TikTok by user @giftstyledit, the lady voiced her displeasure, saying vendors took advantage of the massive crowd by selling common items at excessive rates.
She stated: “Can you imagine? They are selling Pepsi and Coke; Pepsi that is ₦500, they are selling it ₦700. And they said the space will be free o, later they will be saying Nigeria is bad. Buying egg roll ₦800 and bottled water ₦400… Haba, how will Nigeria be good?”
Many viewers echoed her frustration, stating that events of such spiritual significance should not be a ground for extreme price inflation.
Mixed Reactions from Attendees
The video quickly gained attention, prompting others to share their own experiences from the festival.
One user @Idara wrote: “Bottle water I bought 500 there, I got chair 500 we got four chairs!!! Omo something wey be church dem no fear God. No empty chairs oo we had to buy chairs just to seat.. Omo we suffered yesterday o.”
Another @oluwanifemi added: “You people ehh. We that we bought food 7k tasteless self no come online chai.”
While some argued it is normal for event vendors to raise prices due to high demand, others insisted the cost was unfair especially for a religious gathering.

The Hallelujah Challenge Festival, organized by popular gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey, took place at the Police College Ground in Ikeja, Lagos. It marked the finale of the 25-day praise and worship program that has grown into a massive global Christian movement.
The event pulled thousands of worshippers who gathered for a night filled with spirit-lifting praise, worship, and thanksgiving. However, despite the spiritual atmosphere and excitement, some attendees left with complaints regarding the unchecked pricing by vendors.
