A lady has gone viral after sharing her personal experience during the widely followed online worship programme, the Hallelujah Challenge. According to her, she decided to abruptly log out of YouTube during Pastor Eno Jerry’s ministration, explaining that one particular prayer point did not sit well with her.
The Hallelujah Challenge, spearheaded by gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey, has grown into one of Nigeria’s biggest online prayer movements, attracting thousands of worshippers nightly. Each edition features intense worship, praise, testimonies, and special guests, one of whom recently included Pastor Eno Jerry, wife of globally renowned preacher Pastor Jerry Eze.

Lady shares her reason for logging out
In a TikTok upload by user @winneramanze, the young woman shared a short part of Pastor Eno Jerry’s session and narrated that she exited the livestream once the pastor began praying specifically for women desiring marriage. She emphasized that, although she respects the platform and appreciates the spiritual atmosphere, that particular prayer focus did not align with her personal beliefs.
She explained that as a feminist and someone committed to her convictions, the prayer point felt uncomfortable for her, prompting her to step away to maintain her peace and heart posture. Instead, she opted to continue her personal prayer session privately, noting that not every prayer point resonates with everyone.
Her story quickly spread across TikTok and other platforms, sparking conversations about personal boundaries, modern ideologies, and the balance between faith expressions and personal principles. Some viewers said her reaction highlighted a generational difference in spiritual expectations, while others felt she misunderstood the pastor’s intent.
She captioned her post with humor and self-awareness, writing:
“The way I take open YouTube na so I take comot from YouTube… Make I go do my fellowship with my Father sleep abeg.”
She continued: “This part of the prayer does not just sit well with me…and as a strong feminist…in order to keep my heart right continuously, I just left to do my own personal prayer.”
Mixed reactions from the public
The post has generated intense engagement online as viewers debate her actions. Some accuse her of overreacting or misinterpreting the prayer point, while others praise her self-awareness and ability to disengage peacefully instead of staying offended.
One commenter, @SHENNY, argued that the video was selective and misleading, saying:
“Social media and twisting d narrative na 5&6…immediately after this she prayed for men too to find a woman. I thought about this thing she wrote immediately she started praying for a man but when she prayed for men too I let it go cuz she touched both sides.”
Another user, @Nenyenwa, voiced support for the lady’s decision and added humor, commenting:
“No wonder. Ever since I started hallelujah challenge, sleep never carry me wholesale the way it did yesterday.”
Across social media, many have noted that the situation highlights the reality of differing perspectives within religious spaces, especially as conversations around feminism, gender roles, and faith evolve in today’s society.
Some others pointed out that the beauty of the Hallelujah Challenge is that participants are free to worship in ways that align with their personal convictions and spiritual journeys. They encouraged viewers to focus on what uplifts their spirit rather than criticize every detail.
