A Nigerian woman has recounted a deeply emotional and tragic experience, detailing how her young son developed cerebral palsy after an alleged mishandled “deliverance” session conducted by a pastor.
In a viral video shared by @Ekaf TV on TikTok, the heartbroken mother revealed that the incident happened when her son was just one year and four months old. She explained that the child was taken to her husband’s church for prayers, believing it would bring blessings and spiritual protection.
However, during the session, the pastor suddenly proclaimed that the boy had a “great destiny” and was supposedly “under spiritual attack,” claiming that he needed immediate deliverance to “unlock his star.”
According to the mother, the pastor then forcefully lifted her child and turned him upside down as part of the ritual. Shortly after this act, the little boy began experiencing severe convulsions, leaving his parents terrified and confused.
Medical examinations later confirmed that the traumatic event had caused a brain injury, ultimately leading to cerebral palsy — a permanent neurological condition that affects movement, muscle tone, and motor skills.
The grieving woman also disclosed that her husband, who was a member of the same church, abandoned both her and the child when the boy turned two years old. She painfully narrated how he left them and moved on to remarry, leaving her to struggle alone with their son’s care and medical needs.
Her heartbreaking account sparked outrage and empathy online, as many Nigerians condemned the irresponsible and dangerous deliverance practices that continue to harm innocent children in the name of religion.
